PRESS RELEASE

ICCA and HIPAA Academy Deliver Session on HIPAA in Chicago

IT professionals with the right skills are currently in high demand by the healthcare, insurance and financial industries because these industries must comply with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).  In the healthcare industry alone, HIPAA is considered to be on par with Y2K because of its urgency and need for an aggressive IT initiative. What exactly is HIPAA? What are the required IT skills? And what are the opportunities for IT professionals?

On October 8th, the Chicago chapter of the ICCA is honored to have one of the nations acknowledged experts in HIPAA answer these and more questions.  Uday Ali Pabrai, CEO of the HIPAA Academy, is a highly sought after HIPAA consultant and speaker, having delivered numerous keynote and other sessions at conferences worldwide, including COMDEX, COMNET and Internet World. Ali is an accomplished expert in the areas of HIPAA, e-business, enterprise security policy and architecture, and has authored many books and articles on these topics.  He will outline the scope of HIPAA, who it impacts, the compliance timeline and the required IT infrastructure.  The HIPAA Academy provides various training and certification for those involved in HIPAA compliance, from executives to IT pros.
