We are excited to present for our December InfraGard meeting Ali Pabrai, Chief Security Executive of ecfirst, who has accepted to come to Salt Lake and present a program on Global Information Security.  Attached to this email is a background to this presentation. Pabrai presents an exciting keynote on Applying ISO 27000, the Global Information Security Standard, to Address Federal and State Mandates. This is a rare opportunity that will unlikely be able to be repeated

Ali Pabrai, CISSP (ISSAP, ISSMP), CSCS, is the chief executive of ecfirst, an Inc. 500 business in 2004 – America’s fastest growing privately held business. A highly sought after information security and regulatory compliance expert, he has successfully delivered solutions on security and compliance to hundreds of organizations worldwide. Pabrai’s clients have included Microsoft, Principal Financial, McKesson, HP, Symantec, and several government agencies such as the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency and many others.

Ali created the industry's first certification program on compliance and information security, the Certified Security Compliance Specialist, CSCSTM.

Additionally, Robert Clyde, VP of Technology of Symantec, will discuss views of security’s future.  Robert Clyde is a recognized industry authority and pioneer in the development of security products.  Robert set the technology vision and strategy for Symantec, working with leading Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to implement sound and practical security policies and solutions.  He was also the founder of Symantec Security Response, a dedicated group of security experts focused on the latest security threats.

A few weeks ago, the national InfraGard conference was held where leadership from each of the InfraGard chapters around the country gathered via a teleconference.  During this conference, Salt Lake City was awarded the Western Region Community Outreach award.  This is due from efforts uniting Utah’s Be Ready program, DHS volunteer efforts, and other programs with InfraGard.

During the last InfraGard meeting, Ralph Ley, of DHS, gave a presentation on a program DHS is offering freely to all businesses in our InfraGard district.  DHS has produced a security assessment tool which takes about six to eight hours to complete.  They come to your site to provide this service with no interruption to your business processes.  The results of this effort provides a comparison of a facility's physical security to the physical security of their peer's within the same sector.   If you would like to take advantage of this offer for your business, please contact Ralph at ralph.ley@dhs.gov.

Please RSVP for any questions, thank you.
