DES MOINES (February 27) – Governor Tom Vilsack and Iowa tech industry experts will discuss Iowan’s efforts to make the world more secure during Software and Information Technology of Iowa’s annual meeting. The Governor’s conference on information technology with focus on e-Security will be held March 6 at the Marriott Hotel, 1250 74th St., West Des Moines.
The discussion of Iowa technologies’ role in a more secure future begins with comments from Governor Vilsack at 6:00 p.m. and continues with panelists including Uday O. Ali Pabrai, CEO and Co-founder, ecFirst.com; Wayne Hansen, President, CI3 Software; Mike Wagner, Internet Business Strategist, Spindustry Systems; Dr. Doug Jacobsen, Founder and President, Palisade Systems, Inc. – all Software and Information Technology of Iowa (SITI) members.
“The technology that will define future security and freedom is being developed right here in Iowa,” said SITI executive director Miriam Ubben. “SITI members create hardware and software that address hacking, facility management, and other security issues; they’re also working with technologies like biometrics and public key infrastructure that will revolutionize business and personal relationships.”
A 5:00 p.m. reception precedes the panel discussion and SITI’s annual meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. – all are open to the public.
